Mac OS X

The downloaded file is a '.tgz' file, which is a standard Unix compressed archive format. By default, Safari will unarchive this for you; if it doesn't, just double-click the file to unarchive it.

NB some people have reported problems when using Stuffit Expander to unarchive the downloaded file. If possible, don't use Stuffit Expander, but use Mac OS X's built-in unarchiver.

After unarchiving, you should have the plug-in itself, which will have the extension '.component' (for the Audio Unit versions) or '.vst' (for the VST versions).

To install, simply copy the plugin to the appropriate folder:
Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
for the Audio Unit version, or
Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
for the VST version.

Windows

The downloaded file is a '.zip' file, which is a standard Windows compressed archive format. By default Windows XP will let you double click and open this as if it were a folder. Alternatively you can use popular software such as Winzip or Winrar to open the file.

After unarchiving, you should have the plug-in itself, which will have the extension '.dll'.

To install, simply copy the plugin to your VST plugins folder.
