Please download and read the user manual from the downloads page for a much more thorough explanation of the operation of Silent Way plug-ins.

Be sure to watch the videos in HD (by visiting the video's page on YouTube) if you want to be able to read on-screen text properly.

Ableton Live

Download example Live sets: These are Live 7 files, but will work fine in Live 8.

In these sets, the audio from the synth is assumed to be coming in on input 3, and the CV outputs from the interface are assumed to be outputs 3-8. Change the assignments in Live according to your setup. On a MOTU Ultralite interface, 'input 3' in Live is the Ultralite's Input 3, and 'outputs 3-8' in Live are the Ultralite's Outputs 1-6 (sine the Ultralite's Main Outs are Live channels 1-2).

This video is a from-scratch demonstration of setting up the v1.0.2 VST version, though it applies equally well to the current version. The track and channel layout matches that in the example sets above. Make sure you're watching this in HD:

These instructions were posted here by KVR user auricle:

1) It involves creating an 5.1 output bus, making sure that the individual outs are routed to the right hardware outputs of your interface (what you wish to use for CV)

2) In the Arrange window, create an audio track, stereo in (or mono) and stereo out. This is for bringing the audio from your synth into Cubase and for monitoring. Make sure you click the monitor button for this track.

3) Create a group track and select 5.1 for the track configuration. On the insert track select an instance of Silent Way Voice Control.

4) Go into VST Connections and in the Group/FX tab, right click on 'Group 1' select 'Add Child Bus to Group 1' and then click on 'Add All Mono Busses to Group 1'. It should create six busses named after the six outputs of 5.1 surround.

5) On your first audio track used for monitoring, create a bus send and select 'Group 1' for it's output. Make sure the level to this output is set at 0dB

6) Create a MIDI track and set it's output to Group 1 Ins: Silent Way
